The Health Information Support - Emergency Department (HIS ED) at Bendigo Health is responsinble for providing essential administrative and patient information services within a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.
This role supports the accurate and timely delivery of patient information to clinicians and serives across the organisation, ensuring effective patient flow and continuity care. A key component of the role involves interacting with internal and external stakeholders through various channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face communication.
The HIS ED is responsible for patient registration, mainaining accurate patient records within the Patient Administration System, and supporting admissions, discharges, and transfers within the Emergency Department. the role works closely with clinical teams to ensure patient information is recored in real time and meets organisational and policy requirements.
In addition, the position contributes to broader Health Information Services functions, including the preperation, scanning, validation, and auditing of medical records to supoort the transition to digital records and ensure data quality and integrity.
This position operates within the HIS Administration team, which provides servies 24 hours aday, 7 days per week. Flexitbility is required in a rotating roster, which will predominatly require evening, overnight, weekends and public holidays.
