The Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Educator is a key member of the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) team within People and Culture at Bendigo Health. This role is responsible for coordinating and leading learning and development opportunities related to OH&S for staff across Bendigo Health and to a lesser extent, regional partners. The Educator collaborates with nurse leaders, managers, and inter-professional partners to identify training needs, enhance safety knowledge, and support the implementation of targeted OH&S education programs.

 

Key responsibilities include developing and delivering specialized training on occupational violence and aggression (OVA), manual handling and Safe Patient Handling tasks. The role also involves monitoring OH&S incident data, evaluating training effectiveness and ensuring continuous improvement in clinical learning. The Educator plays a significant role in developing educational resources, facilitating in-services and contributing to the design and evaluation of OH&S learning opportunities for various departments. Additionally, they mentor staff, promote OH&S standards and represent the OH&S team on relevant committees and working groups.
