Salary per hour (exc. super): As per award
Hours per fortnight: 86 (inclusive of 10 hours training time)
Employment Status: 12-month full time Registrar position commencing February 2026

Bendigo Health is recruiting an Advanced Trainee in General and Acute Care Medicine for a subspecialty rotation in Infectious Diseases. The role involves managing inpatients, outpatients and consults under the supervision of Infectious Diseases consultants, while working closely with the Infection Prevention and Control team. The position offers strong exposure to infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship in a supportive teaching environment.

Trainees are encouraged to participate in Grand Rounds, Journal Club, ID-specific education sessions and multidisciplinary meetings, as well as Austin/Northern Advanced Trainee and VIMG teaching. Dedicated time is provided to complete RACP training requirements, and research involvement is supported. Financial assistance is available to attend the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases Annual Scientific Meeting or equivalent.

This position can be undertaken as a 12-month role (six months subspecialty Infectious Diseases and six months non-core General Medicine), or as a six-month Infectious Diseases post combined with six months of core General Medicine.

Your New Division

The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute, allied health, cancer and mental health services.  We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. Our Allied Health teams provide a diverse range of programs and person centred care in inpatient, outpatient, community, home and residential care settings.
