Bendigo Health is offering two 12-month accredited training positions with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM). Each successful candidate will complete two six-month rotations: one on the Neurological Rehabilitation Ward, managing patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and other demyelinating neurological conditions; and one on the Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Ward, which includes care for amputees, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic patients, as well as transplant recipients from the Austin Hospital.

 

Registrars will participate in dedicated training sessions aligned with the AFRM curriculum and will be closely supported by Rehabilitation Medicine Training Victoria (RMTV). The position includes attendance at various outpatient clinics—such as the Spasticity Management Clinic—and active involvement in rehabilitation assessments. There is also a requirement for some after-hours subacute ward coverage.

 

In addition, registrars will have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly experienced team of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine Physicians. Successful candidates are strongly encouraged to take part in research and quality improvement initiatives.
