The Trainee Payroll Officer position has been established to support individuals seeking to develop the skills required to become a Payroll Coordinator.

Throughout the traineeship, participants will gain practical experience in all aspects of payroll processing. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Processing new employee commencements and terminations

  • Updating and maintaining employee masterfile records

  • Managing leave payments

  • Accurately processing documentation and electronic data related to pay, allowances, salary packaging, and other payroll matters

All tasks will be carried out in accordance with relevant Awards and Industrial Agreements

The role sits within Bendigo Health’s Payroll Services Team, which provides payroll support to over 5,000 employees across the region. The team is responsible for a broad range of services, including employee data management, salary packaging, superannuation, leave processing, and payroll systems administration using Kronos and SAP.

Your New Division

The Finance and Resources Division is responsible for financial functions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and analysis, together with our procurement, materials management, facilities management, payroll and Public Private Partnership (PPP) functions. The division also includes Health Information Services with key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, and external data reporting requirements.  These are essential non-clinical services providing high-quality support, advice, monitoring and compliance functions. The team are focussed on delivering the strategic vision within their responsibilities and on assisting the organisation operationally.
